Has anyone out there ever considered the extreme significance of Leviticus (er all the laws given to Israel aside from the 10 Commandments) and what it suggests? After randomly looking at a few verses a veil was removed: It's written that the law is abolished in Christ's flesh but do we actually 100% understand what that means and have considered it? Much of the law speaks against the pagan customs that Israel had adopted while in Egypt. God's Law (which was the heart/kind of summery of the Book of the Law) describes His character and what sin is. "Through the Law we become conscious of sin," as it is written.

Well...if all those laws speaking against pagan habits/customs embodied sin, and the way the law system was set up (don't do it, but if you take an ox/lamb/goat/bird it will be a temporary sacrifice for your sins), and how once Christ died, "abolishing in his flesh the law" then giving us his Holy Spirit, then aren't the customs and practices the law speaks against that of our sinful flesh?

So then consider the fruit of the Spirit and how the Spirit works: The Spirit does the will of God; the Spirit's fruit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Now if we're born of Christ, then the Spirit is in us and the Spirit does the will of God for the Spirit IS God.

So now consider this: Israel knew not the Spirit, but the law and the Law of which pointed towards Christ and what he would accomplish in his coming to be our perfect Sacrifice. The law screamed their need of a savior. So because they knew not his spirit (because no one can understand the things of God without the Spirit so it's written), their sinful flesh was prone to doing the things the law spoke against doing.

And our sinful flesh does what is contrary to the Spirit--what is contrary to God. So when Christ abolished the written code by and IN his flesh (he became the ultimate Sacrifice and upheld the Law in perfection) then when it (the Word) says we live by the Spirit IN Christ, then again, the fruit of the spirit is contrary to the sinfulness we have in our flesh. By the Spirit, as we live in Him, we automatically do the things the Spirit commands, we automatically embody God's character--the perfection of God's *royal* Law (*royal mentioned in James 2:8)--we automatically do the things that please God for God cannot do what is contrary to him; which is sin.

Therefore, when we're born of Christ—Spirit led—we no longer try of our own power like that of the Israelites to uphold the Law (and such specifics) because BYTHE SPIRIT do we produce the Fruit of the Spirit. And the Fruit of the Spirit is God's will, not the corruption found in our own sinful flesh. So when it was said that the law was abolished in his flesh (Ephesians 2:15), imitating the life of Christ is therefore upholding the Law just as He did (Matt. 5:17 [-20] ), NOT by our works or our own efforts, but BY His Spirit which is given freely to those who ask, to those who are born in Christ. :aww:

You see, apart from Christ we can do nothing good, so that not only says just how active he is in our daily lives, but says if we abide in Him, we become like Him—blameless in all we do.

Be blessed my brothers and sisters if you took the time to read this. May His Spirit lead you always. Amen. :rose:
